Right and Licences

COPYRIGHT

  1. Copyright for each article published in Action Research Journal Indonesia (ARJI) is retained by the author(s). Authors maintain ownership of their intellectual property and remain responsible for the content of their published work.

  2. By submitting and publishing an article in ARJI, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the right to distribute the published work under the applicable Creative Commons licence. This arrangement allows authors to retain copyright while enabling the dissemination and reuse of their research in accordance with the selected licence.

  3. Authors are encouraged to:

    • Share their published articles through institutional repositories, personal websites, and other academic platforms, provided that the original publication in ARJI is properly acknowledged.

    • Enter into non-exclusive agreements for further distribution of their published work, such as inclusion in books, edited volumes, or other scholarly publications, provided that the original publication in ARJI is acknowledged and the applicable licence terms are respected.

  4. The authors bear full responsibility for the content, accuracy, originality, and opinions expressed in their articles. ARJI provides immediate open access to its published content, allowing readers to access and download articles free of charge, subject to the terms of the applicable Creative Commons licence.

LICENCE

  1. ARJI provides immediate open access to all published articles without an embargo period. Readers are not required to register or pay a subscription fee to access and download articles.

  2. Effective from 2026, ARJI adopts the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0) for articles published under the new licensing policy. This licence permits users to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

  3. Previous licence policy. Before the 2026 change, ARJI used the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Under that licence, reuse was limited to non-commercial purposes, and adaptations had to be distributed under the same or a compatible licence.

  4. Licence transition and applicable terms. The change from CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 to CC BY 4.0 reflects ARJI's commitment to expanding the accessibility, dissemination, and reuse of scholarly research. The applicable licence for each article is determined by the licence stated on the article's publication page and/or the published article itself. Articles published under the previous licence remain subject to the terms of that licence unless a change is expressly agreed upon with the relevant rights holder(s). The official announcement regarding the licence change is available through the journal's announcements page.

  5. Users of ARJI articles must comply with the applicable Creative Commons licence and provide appropriate attribution to the author(s) and the original source. The licence does not remove the obligation to respect applicable laws or third-party rights.

ARJI supports open scholarly communication and encourages the responsible sharing and reuse of research to advance knowledge and academic collaboration.
