Conflict of Interest
Conflict of Interest Policy
Action Research Journal Indonesia (ARJI) is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, and integrity in research and scholarly publishing. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members, are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence, or be perceived to influence, the objectivity of research, the peer-review process, or editorial decisions.
Conflicts of interest may include financial interests, personal relationships, professional or institutional affiliations, academic competition, or other interests that may compromise objective judgment.
1. Authors' Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest relevant to their research and submitted manuscripts. Authors must also declare the sources of research funding and, where applicable, the role of the funder in conducting the research, preparing the manuscript, and deciding whether to publish the findings.
If no conflicts of interest exist, authors must clearly state that there are no conflicts of interest to disclose.
2. Reviewers' Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must inform the editor of any relationship or interest that could affect their independence and objectivity in evaluating a manuscript. Reviewers who have conflicts of interest that may compromise their impartiality must decline or withdraw from the review process.
Reviewers must also maintain manuscript confidentiality and must not use information obtained during peer review for personal advantage.
3. Editors' Conflicts of Interest
Editors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and refrain from editorial decision-making when their interests could compromise their objectivity. In such cases, responsibility for handling the manuscript will be transferred to another editor without a relevant conflict of interest.
Manuscripts submitted by editors or editorial board members must undergo independent peer review and editorial procedures designed to ensure objective publication decisions.
4. Managing Conflicts of Interest
ARJI will assess all conflict-of-interest disclosures objectively and take appropriate measures to safeguard the integrity of the publication process. Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest may lead to further examination and editorial action in accordance with the journal's policies.
Disclosure of a conflict of interest does not automatically imply ethical misconduct. Rather, disclosure is an essential part of transparency, enabling editors and readers to make informed assessments of relevant information.
ARJI is committed to ensuring that publication decisions are based on scholarly quality, relevance, and objective peer review, rather than on the personal, financial, or professional interests of the parties involved.
